Some traditions are best left in the past

Ever wondered where the tradition of tossing the bride's bouquet came from?

In days of old, it was the custom to rip off pieces of the bride's dress in the hope of gaining some of her good luck and fortune. Well, that's certainly best left in the past!

I know of no bride who would appreciate even a teeny weeny tear in her dress let alone a fistful of silk or lace being grabbed by an over-enthusiastic guest. So throwing your bouquet to a hopeful spinster is the next best thing. Anyone catching your bouquet is catching some of your good luck in being the next to find a perfect husband. So brides beware! Have those bouquets ready and keep your beautiful wedding dresses to yourself.
